Tom and Sophie’s wedding was held in the beautiful Rudding Park, in Harrogate. What is great about this venue is the beautiful chapel on site so there is no time wasted travelling between different venues.
Tom and Sophie were the first from their group of friends to get married and there was a real excitement and buzz amongst the guests as they arrived at the wedding. I love photographing the groom moments before the bride’s arrival. There are often some great facial expressions, nervous giggles and exchanges between the groom and best man to be caught on camera. Tom did look very nervous as he waited, with all eyes on him, but as soon as Sophie entered the chapel his expression completely changed to the biggest beaming smile. Some churches can have restrictions on where a photographer can stand. For this wedding I was allowed up at the front behind the pillars which was great as I was able to discreetly capture some really intimate shots. After the ceremony Tom and Sophie drove off in Tom’s Grandfather’s beautiful Morris Minor. When they arrived back, their friends and family were ready to welcome them with confetti and cheers. A drinks reception was held in the gardens of Rudding Park. This was followed by a dinner and dancing in the hotel’s ballroom.
